MISSION STATEMENT:
Respite Care of Houma provides services to strengthen, stabilize and support
families
who care for a loved one with a developmental disability.
GOALS/PURPOSE:
1. To strengthen and stabilize families
2. To prevent possible child abuse
3. To prevent or delay institutionalization
The Respite Care of Houma has been three years in the planning.
Since Sister has seen so much family disfunction and pain over the years
she wanted a way to intervene to prevent such happenings and
the the breakage of families,
thus the concept of respite was developed.
Respite is a way of
"Keeping Families Together".
"Respite Care gives parents peace of mind while enjoying some time away from the constant responsibility
of caring for a diabled loved one.
Respite is a lifesaver."
